Banijay Rights Tops Broadcast Distributors Survey 2024
London, 26th September, 2024: Banijay Rights, the global distribution arm of content powerhouse Banijay Entertainment, has topped Broadcast’s Distributors Survey for the very first time. The Rogue Heroes, MasterChef and Survivor sales house took the top spot for 2024, having previously held second place for three successive years.
Led by CEO Cathy Payne, Banijay Rights has recorded £389.1m in distribution revenues for 2023-24, up 8.4% from last year’s £359m.
Broadcast noted that successful formats like MasterChef have been important for Banijay Rights, with international versions proving increasingly lucrative. Formats have also been central to Banijay’s FAST (Free AD-supported Streaming TV) strategy, with classic episodes of Deal or No Deal, Fear Factor, Wipeout and Survivor used to create single IP channels, boosting alternative revenue streams.
Alongside the strong performance of format titles, Banijay Entertainment has seen success with drama titles across international markets in the past year - including This Town, the award-winning The Sixth Commandment and Marie Antoinette.
The survey results come ahead of MIPCOM 2024 where Banijay Entertainment will be taking a full slate of new and returning scripted series, landmark factual titles and exciting formats to market.
