Description

Deal or No Deal is an exhilarating hit gameshow where contestants play and deal for a top cash prize in a high-energy contest of nerves, luck and raw intuition. First airing from 2005–2009 on primetime NBC and 2008–2010 in first-run syndication, Deal or No Deal season 5 returns to the US with Howie Mandel as host on CNBC.

Season 5 continues to offer up a high-pressure, high-stakes game of risk and reward, in which contestants face a series of potentially life-altering decisions. With 26 sealed briefcases full of varying amounts of cash – ranging from a penny to $1 million – contestants have to decide whether to accept an offer of cash from the mysterious entity known only as the ‘Banker’ in exchange for what might be contained in the chosen briefcase.

In an exciting new format twist, the contestant shall be given an opportunity to confer with their supporters and make a one-time counter offer to the prize money offered by the Banker. It is then up to the Banker to accepting the deal or reject the offer. This added format changes the dynamic between Banker and contestant while providing another layer of strategy for the contestant.
